Beginnings
How It Started
Lakeland Birth & Gynecology grew from a simple idea: women deserve healthcare that feels personal without sacrificing clinical experience, safety or professionalism.
Before becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife, Ashley Payne worked in emergency and trauma nursing, caring for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Her career later expanded into women's health, early pregnancy care, birth support and full-scope nurse-midwifery.
Those experiences shaped the kind of practice she wanted to build.
A place where patients have time to ask questions.
A place where informed consent matters.
A place where pregnancy, birth, gynecology, hormones, weight concerns and everyday women's health can be approached as connected parts of the same person.
Lakeland Birth & Gynecology was created to bring that type of care to women in Lakeland and surrounding Central Florida communities.
As the practice grew, wellness services became a natural extension of that mission.
Our IV Therapy + Wellness services grew from the same philosophy: convenient wellness care with a clinical foundation.

Meet Ashley Payne
Ashley Payne, APRN, CNM, C-EFM
Ashley Payne is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and founder of Lakeland Birth & Gynecology.
Her clinical background includes emergency and trauma nursing, women's healthcare, early pregnancy care, prenatal care, labor and birth, postpartum care, gynecology, contraception, hormone and menopause care, weight-management care, limited obstetric ultrasound and out-of-hospital birth.
Ashley earned her Master of Science in Nursing in Nurse-Midwifery from Bethel University. She holds national certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife as well as certification in electronic fetal monitoring.

The addition
Why Add IV Wellness?
IV therapy was not created to replace women's healthcare.
It was added because hydration, nutrition, energy, weight management and general wellness are frequent concerns among the women Ashley already cares for.
Sometimes an IV may be a useful wellness option.
Other times, fatigue, weight changes, menstrual changes, hair changes, poor sleep, brain fog or simply not feeling like yourself deserves a more complete evaluation.
Because our IV Therapy + Wellness services are connected to Lakeland Birth & Gynecology, patients have access to something an ordinary IV lounge may not provide: a broader women's health perspective.
